The Capital Area Alumni Network, chartered in 1999, serves alumni who live in the greater Washington, DC, metro area.

The Capital Area Alumni Network is a member of the Capital Alumni Network (CAN). You can learn about this organization by visiting the Capital Alumni Network. An active and dynamic group of alumni volunteers whose goals are to "provide a forum for networking opportunities for local alumni clubs; act as an information clearinghouse for all local alumni clubs; and sponsor/host events each year to promote inter-collegial spirit and philanthropy," CAN sponsors monthly social, cultural, community, and team sport leagues (flag football, softball, and volleyball). The organization also encourages alumni chapters/clubs to invite CAN members to their events.
