Student Alumni Council

Membership in the Student Alumni Council is open to all students at Illinois State University. Interested students must fill out a Student Alumni Council membership agreement in order to become a member of the organization.Student Alumni Council

In addition, a minimal membership fee is required. Members are required to attend general council meetings, participate in activities, hold one office hour per week, and actively participate on at least two committees.

Alumni Interaction

SAC works in conjunction with the Alumni Association office and the Alumni Association Board of Directors. SAC wants all students to know that graduation from Illinois State does not end their relationship with the University. Instead, a lifelong association with their Alma Mater begins right here on campus.

 

 

 

Leadership Opportunities

SAC sponsors many programs and offers opportunities for members to gain leadership experience. Programs include:

  • Homecoming SAC is responsible for student royalty, decorating the Quad with Reggie Feet and annually produces award-winning floats.
  • Dream Dorm Do-Over -- SAC works with other student organizations to provide a complete redecorating of one lucky student's residence hall room.
  • Legacy Scholarship—SAC offers three $1,000 scholarships to sons and daughters of Illinois State alumni.This non-renewable scholarship was made possible by a donation from the family of Marion H. Dean, Class of 1927, and continuous contributions from Student Alumni Council and the Illinois State University Alumni Association.
  • Sibling WeekendSAC funds and plans a carnival and coordinates other activities to help students and their siblings celebrate this special weekend.
