Members of the Illinois State community will be seeing a change in Redbird Cards. The Illinois State University Identity Committee has designed a new card to be issued by the Redbird Card Office in August. The new card includes a hologram to deter card forgery and retains the same functions as the old card. No one is required to replace their current ID card.
The Redbird Card with the Cook Hall design will continue to work, but new IDs will be printed with the hologram. Until older IDs are phased out, two Redbird Card styles will be seen on campus.
Replacement costs will remain the same:
- Replacement cards are free if the card returned is 4 years or older
- $5 to replace a damaged/broken ID
- $5 to purchase the hologram style ID (if the old ID is returned to the Redbird Card Office)
- $15 to replace a lost/stolen ID
